The dark knight review

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is the second film in the new batman sequel. It has been specified as an action/crime and drama genre.

'To protect my city, I must wear a mask'
The film includes elements of romance, due to the undeniable chemistry between Bruce Wayne (aka batman) and fellow friend, and childhood sweetheart Rachel. However, it also demonstrates the conflict between good and evil, hero against villain. However, featured throughout the development of the conflict contrast between good and evil, it demonstrates the struggle batman has with his two identities and if he is the hero after all? What does being a hero consist of?
One famous quote from Harvey Dent 'You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain'
This is also interesting as Harvey Dent was correct. However, not about this quote associating with batman, but himself. Throughout the progression of the film, we see the influence that love and the joker has over Harvey Dent, which progressively turns one of the protaganists (Harvey) into a antagonist.
The story is told through Batmans eyes, (first person). This is interesting as it also creates certain aspects of dramatic irony.
The film contains various amounts of CGI and visual effects. I personally would consider this film one of the best films ever made. The sound and visual effects are astounding and pnemoninal.
The roles of the characters are convincingly complex due to the compounded and complicated characters. I am particuarly fond of this quote from the joker 'we stopped checking for monsters under our beds, when we realised they were inside us'.

Heath Ledger gave the best perfomance of his acting career playing the role of the joker. Adding his own dark, mad and driven twist to the film.
